The short answer
To check a Cypriot company, MarketPrior resolves it against Data Gov CY Companies, then screens it against the 4 global sanctions lists (OFAC SDN list, EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions, UN Security Council Consolidated List, UK Sanctions List), a PEP screen, global news and web signals. In total 31 catalogued sources apply to Cypriot companies: 1 specific to Cyprus, 3 covering the EU and EEA and 27 global. Every finding links to the record it came from, and gaps are shown rather than filled in.

How do you check a company in Cyprus?
Cypriot companies are registered with the Department of Registrar of Companies; MarketPrior reads its company data from the national open-data portal.
In MarketPrior, a Cypriot company is first resolved to the right legal entity — using its national identifier and, where it has one, its LEI — so that every later lookup is about the same company. The report then combines what the Cypriot sources publish with global sanctions, PEP, news and web signals, and every finding is cited to its record.

What else applies to every Cypriot company?
Some of the most important checks are not national. These EU-wide and global sources are applied to every Cypriot company:
- Sanctions: OFAC SDN list, EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions, UN Security Council Consolidated List, UK Sanctions List — with every hit tiered confirmed, probable or possible.
- Politically exposed persons: a PEP screen built on Wikidata.
- Identity and ownership: GLEIF LEI records and GLEIF Level 2 parent and subsidiary links.
- Adverse media: GDELT global news, classified for relevance, sentiment and materiality.
- Growth signals: public job boards, GitHub, web traffic rank, web-archive history, tech stack and app listings.
- EU-wide: the ESMA sanctions register of national regulators, ESEF annual financial reports of listed issuers, and national data-protection (GDPR) fines.
Which sales triggers cover Cypriot companies?
There are no Cypriot-specific registry triggers yet. These triggers work for companies in any country:
- Hiring spikes
- Tech adoption
- Website launches
What is not covered for Cyprus?
Public records are uneven between countries. Where a source is missing or thin, a MarketPrior report says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.
- Officers and directors are not read from a Cypriot register feed. They can still appear from the company’s own website (team and leadership pages) and, for the largest groups, from global identifiers.
- Financial statements are not read from a Cypriot source. Companies listed on an EU regulated market are covered through their ESEF annual financial reports; private companies’ accounts are not.
- Beneficial owners are not read from a Cypriot register. Ownership links come from GLEIF Level 2 parent and subsidiary data where the company has an LEI.
- There are no Cypriot-specific registry triggers yet; only the any-country triggers (hiring spikes, tech adoption, website launches) apply.
