BODACC in practice
BODACC notices exist so that third parties — creditors in particular — can learn of legal events affecting a business. They are published as open data under the Licence Ouverte.
Notices are grouped into categories — sales and transfers, registrations, modifications, deregistrations, collective proceedings and accounts filings — and each is tied to the company’s SIREN and the registry court that recorded it.
Why BODACC matters
- New registrations and business sales are sales triggers.
- Collective proceedings (redressement, liquidation judiciaire) are key risk events.
- Administration changes show new managers.
BODACC in MarketPrior
MarketPrior reads BODACC daily. Notices become new-company, registry-change, business-sale, executive-change and (opt-in) insolvency events, and insolvency notices are cited as risk findings in diligence reports on French companies.
